Tach drive end of FI distributor cross shaft

What year (or dist model) did the tach drive end of the FI cross shaft change from a slotted end to a square hole end?
I have in my hand, an 022 (63) dist with a slotted cross shaft. That is not correct, right?????

You are correct, square hole started in '62.

Tom, It is truely amazing what our old FI's and distributors go thru. You know it's not that easy to change a cross shaft in an FI distributor. One would think the bubbas of the world woulda found it easier to get nice new tach cable made for the stock 63 distributor/cross shaft. Also would gbe a lot less bucks.
        Hey Tom, Ever hear of a 63 distributor with a 42 foot ball, a 915 vacuum advance, a 914 distr cam, and a 58 to 61 cross shaft?(maybe 57 908 cross shaft too)
I heard of just such an animal recently. That kind of stuff is what makes it fun provided someone else is paying the bill.

Trivia. Seems to me that I recall that if you bought a 62 service replacement over the counter FI distributor in the old days from Chevy that in that box was a plastic adapter that went into the square cross shaft so that one could put the round cable with the key hole slot in this plastic adapter.

Anyone here ever hear of that or is my memory failing me again. Jd

          John,
In addition to what you said, If I could find a 908 and a 906 dist, I'd break them down and make me a "907" dist. That would give me an EARLY 908 style dist WITH a tach drive AND a vac adv for the 56 (hope my comment didn't cause any of the NCRS purists to have a coronary or short anyone's pace maker ).
