    C2 loose rear view mirror

Have searched the archives and can not find what I am looking for. My interior rear view mirror on my 67 will not stay in place. Slowly starts tilting down. Have tightened the screw to no avail. I thought I read some where that there is supposed to be a wave washer or something in there. Any body have a solution? Thanks

Long Island Corvette Supply sells this retainer as well as the correct adjustment screw. Both are needed to keep the mirror in place. Search their website under interior rear view mirrors. Cost is very low $. You will need to order something else to meet their minimum.

If you can't find, let me know and I will post the Item # for you.

EDIT: Long Island Items # 10-08 and #10-10. Total cost of fix $3.50.

I agree with Larry, you are probably missing the little bushing that goes in the mirror hole for the screw.
If you are comming to Bloomington let me know and I will bring you one.

I remember reading in a Restorer tip section years ago that a drop of Locktite can help with this sort of issue.....

          John:

It probably would. But for less than $4 you can get exactly what Chevrolet originally installed and has worked for over 40 years.

            Bill,

Thank you for the offer, however I will not be at Bloomington. One day I will make it there. Maybe even drive a Vette from the west coast. Will have to be in the future. I will get what I need thru LIC. Have dealt with them before and been happy! Love your car in your avatar also!

              John,

I had the same problem on my 1963. I just inserted a small star washer in the opening where the mirror goes. Then just tightened the screw. The mirror hasn't moved since.
