I am restoring my 57 and I am looking to replace my radiator core. The original radiator has a strap that goes around the core and attaches to the top of the radiator to support the core. There's a section on the left and right and another section the lower part of the core. The left and right sections are spot welded to the lower section as well as the top. My lower sections cannot be saved and I can't seem to find a replacement part. I have access to another radiator that I can pull apart and use the lower strap from that radiator but the labor costs might make it not worth the effort... I dont dare try this stuff on my own.. Since this section does not show when installed I could go without the lower section but that is offending my sense of bringing the car back as it was. Any advice? Anyone know where I might find this lower support strap?? thank you thank you...

Re: 57 radiator lower core support
i doubt anyone is repo-ing the lower strap. i'd go junkyarding with a measuring tape and find a 50's GM radiator with similar dimensions or larger dimensions(which could be shortened to accomidate your 57 vette core). most competent radiator shops can handle the job. good luck,mike- Top
