    C3 body

Anyone ever devise a way to flip a C3 body shell upside down or to stand it on its side to make cleaning, painting and repairs to the underside of the body easier? I have a rotisserie, but have not figured out yet how to mount it so I don't damage the fiberglass. Was thinking about making some brackets that would bolt to the doorsills that would enable me to stand it on its side, but not sure what damage might occur to the front and rear clips, they seem pretty flimsy.

I've seen the AutoTwirler at Carlisle and Bloomington, and they can easily flip their C3 upside down. I suspect you can too.

I took the Nolands body dolly(btw, it has many shortcomings for a C3) and made it tall enough to get under it.

John, you can always take a body when it is attached to a dolly and lift it up enough to work under it. That's what I do.

I have seen someone put a lot of padding on a floor and roll a body over on it and brace it perperdicular to the floor. I don't know if I would do this.

Same-made it a little taller and scoot under as needed

Geez, I just but my black 63 coupe on it's side the other night.

Looks like rolling it onto its side can/has been done without damage to the fiberglass. Thanks for the responses. Decided to put some casters on the body so I could roll it out of the way while I worked on the frame/chassis. I had some brackets/casters left from a steel car restoration that I modified to fit. Now if I can just find some room for the body while I work on the frame.
