C1 (1960) Kick Panel Install problems!!!!!!!

I'm having problems getting my kick panels installed, or at least I think I am

These are new Al Knock Deluxe kick panels.

I would appreciate if someone with a 60 (or I assume any 59-62 would also work) could check to see how the kick panel upper end fits to the hinge pillar. There is an indention in the fiberglass where I believe the tip of the kick panel is supposed to go (see my first photo). I have to force the panel tip down quite a bit and also try to force/pull down on the dash pad and I still can't get everything to fit right. If you look at the second picture there is a molded line in the dash pad and I am assuming this should be aligned with the edge of the kick panel. As you can see in my photo it is not. I may be able to force the pad down some, but still can't everything to line up, i.e. the kick panel edge in the slot in the hinge pillar glass and the dask pad pulled down enough.

I have also attached a picture of the passenger side where I had already screwed the kick panel in place. However, you can see it is about 1/4" above the groove/slot in the hinge pillar.

I would really appreciate a couple of picture from both the end view showing how the kick panel tip fit, i.e. is it supposed to go in the groove/slot in the hinge pillar. Also, if yours is down in into that groove, how does you dash pad fit under the kick panel.

    Thanks,

    Don Harris

Here's my original kick panel windlace. Notice the holes in the end of it.

That end tucks under and is held in place by the back screw.
