Gas keeps running into the front carb body after I turn the engine off (and must be when running too). Stuck float or needle valve? Do I have to remove the carb from the intake, disconnect linkage, fuel lines, etc or can I adjust and/or fix with the carb in place? A.I.R. is right up against the float bowl.

Try removing sight level screw and adjust level if that does'nt work spray some Berryman B12 or Gumout in the float bowl to
clean out needle and seat. Last resort pull float bowl.

Good advice, but spray cleaners rarely helps needle and seat if adjustment fails. Most likely issue is float is way too high. Replace needle and seat with good Holley replacements if resetting fails. Other problems such as warpage can be your problem so check out flatness of mating surfaces when taken apart. This has been discussed in previous posts on this web site.

Simple fix,
Remove jam screw from needle & seat assembly.
Remove needdle & seat by turning special lock nut & count turns.
Using compessed air, clean needle & seat assembly.
Inspect N & S & if damaged, replace with Holley .110 assembly.
Reinstall counting turns & loosely seal screw.
Adjust, using sight plug & engine running & many rags under plug area.
Fuel level needs to be below threads for best result.

Richard's suggestion worked....at least for now. I unscrewed the sight level screw, sprayed gumout into the float bowl and with a small piece of wire lifted the float/needle arm up and down several times. Did that a few times about 15 minutes apart. The car is a seasonal driver so it is only driven half the year. Six months on, 6 months off. My guess is that old gas stuck things up.

Next time store with aviation fuel if it's going to sit that long. It is non gumming compared to todays pump junk. And no corn juice.
