Re: removing 63 doors
Robert,
A method I have used for years has worked both on the coupe and conv. Since you didn't specify which it won't matter anyway.
1. Remove handles, locks, glass, vents and basically anything that is on the doors leaving only the fiberglass and hinges still mounted.
2. Take a 1/4" Drill bit and drill a hole in the hinges where the six bolts mount the hinge to the door supports. Drill thru the hinge, shims and the door support. Drill the hole in both door hinges.
3. Remove the bolts with the door supported at the center of balance on a hydraulic jack.
4. Take the shims and label them as to right hand or left hand upper and lower.
5. Remove the doors from the body leaving the hinges on the body.
6. Reverse the above procedure using a 1/4" metal dowel or the 1/4" drill bits to align the hinge, shims and door support.
7. Install the bolts and swing the door closed.
8. Tighten the bolts with the door closed.
9. Should be within millimeters of the original position. Some minor alignment may be needed but it won't be much.
