    Electrical Short

My 59 has not been started in about 6 months. I tried to start it today and the battery was dead. Hooked up the charger and turned it own and got a big spark of fire at the battery. Every thing was hooked up correctly I tried it again same thing. I got another good battery jumped it directly to the battery cables on the vet, old battery was not hooked to the cables and I had the same spark. We the car was put away it was running and starting just fine. I had a battery maintainer on the battery for the whole time period. Any one have any ideas where to look for the short
