Looking for information on this dealership per Shipping Assembly records. The local Library provided info that Jay Chevrolet was on Haddon Rd. in Haddonfield, NJ. Any info on this dealers existence would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've google searched every which way. I did find out from the Haddonfield Historical Society that Jay Chevrolet was listed at 715 Haddon Rd. Haddonfield ,NJ in the 1969 Camden phone directory. That same location in 1961 was Haddonfield Chevrolet. I was hoping someone from that area might remember. I appreciate your reply.

I remember Jay Chevrolet.

At least through the 70's, they were located on Haddon Avenue in Haddonfield NJ, just on the border of Haddonfield and Westmont NJ. At that time, it was a small dealership with a showroom that probably only held 2 or 3 cars. Their inventory (usually about 20-25 cars) was kept at a lot about a block away, on the opposite side of the street from the showroom. The building was torn down, and replaced with a Rite Aid Pharmacy, years ago.

At some point, Jay Chevrolet built a new building, at the Burnt Mill Road address you have, and moved there. The dealership was about a block from the Echelon Mall, and if I recall correctly, Jay had a showroom in the mall, for a little while. I don't remember when they moved to Voorhees, or how long they were there, but it seems to me that they went out of business, within a few years of moving. There's a self storage company in the building now (Award Self Storage), and they've been there probably 15 years.

I have a 1971 Chevrolet key chain from Jay Chevrolet, in my collection.

Hi Glen, thanks for responding and confirming the location of this dealership. The location was 715 Haddon Rd.(now the location of Rite Aid) Haddonfield. From the information I gathered the dealership was originally Haddonfield Chevrolet and believe it changed to Jay in 1967. The information provided to me referring to the Voorhees location was from 1977 records. The information you provided is very much appreciated. The car I own is a 1969 RallySport Z28 Camaro I purchased in 1977. Its Hugger Orange (Monaco) with black vinyl and stripes. I had just turned 20 when I purchased the car and unfortunately didn't retain the owners name or address , but it was in the Haddonfield area. If I recall the owner owned a home heating business and was recently married. Here's a link to the history of the car from initial purchased to 24 years of persistence in reacquiring the car. My home town of Newtown Sq. Pa. was the location of the Penske race shop and remember the Grand Sport Corvette and was friends with the chief mechanic Bill Scott (Scotty). Actually he was more of a mentor.
