I have looked at the posts about Guaranty Chevrolet in San Diego in the '60s and '70s. It looks like they may have ordered many race car configuration Corvettes for people. Anyone know about that? Thanks.

Re: Guaranty Chevrolet San Diego and race cars
I think you're correct, Michael. I believe the last 1969 L88 was delivered sold there, and my 1970 ZR1 was also delivered/sold there. I'd like to find a salesman or anyone who remembers selling the hi-performance corvettes there. Do you have any contacts or ideas on that?- Top

Re: Guaranty Chevrolet San Diego and race cars
I have not found any contacts for Guaranty yet. My '64 black/white fuelie big brake tanker came from there. Sold to a Navy aviator at Miramar. It would be good to find someone who worked there or knows some of the people who did. The search continues.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Guaranty Chevrolet San Diego and race cars
I'm thinking that my ZR1 was likely purchased by a serviceman as well. The fellow I bought the car from purchased it in Highland Indiana around 1977. It still retains its factory drivetrain - including 4.56 posi. I can only imagine whoever took the car to indiana trailered it, or was incredibly patient.
Years ago I contacted the local San Diego Corvette club about Guaranty history. They published a nice piece asking for info on Guaranty info/employees in their news letter - to no avail. I'll let you know if I find any other info.- Top

Re: Guaranty Chevrolet San Diego and race cars
COCSD (Corvette Club of San Diego) is the oldest Corvette club there. In the 80’s they were sponsored by Courtesy Chevrolet which has been there forever. You might check with Courtesy and see if there was any employee spillover.- Top
