Gents: I need some help. I'd like to know the ownership history of a vehicle and I'd like to do the detective work myself if possible. My 1966 C2 Roadster spent its life in SC and Texas. It was delivered new to Dixie Chevrolet (Florence, SC) on June 21, 1966. I sent information requests to the DMVs in these 2 States. In a couple of weeks, for $12, Texas came back with a complete certified ownership history. South Carolina got back in 3 weeks with a 1 pager saying that they maintained no records before 2004. They charged me $24 for this too. The only recent owner that I got was a fellow from Hartsville, SC named Hal V. Byrd. Question: Does anyone have any guidance on how I can get SC ownership records from 1966 to the present? Any guidance appreciated. Thanks fellows. Best, Ned
