Hello, I’m trying to find the dealer code and zone for Bergl Chevrolet that operated in Cicero Illinois from 1932 till 1978 after that it became Strat Chevrolet and then went out of business.

I don't have any Illinois Zone lists that far back, but I remember buying parts for my 1970 (in 1972 & 1973) from them. At that time I lived in Cicero and was walking distance from them. I remember a set of SB angle plug heads sitting on the counter in their parts department. I just couldn't see the $275 they wanted for both complete heads. That was tall money back then. It probably is a good thing I didn't have the money for them.

Nice picture of the Strat ghost sign. I think those buildings are gone, but I could swing by there an see. I was within a thousand feet of them today, but I wasn't on Cermak -- I was on the N/S street just to the East of where they were.

Just a thought -- send a PM with your question to Mark Lincoln. He may have zone/dealer lists going that far back.

Looks like Bergl turned into Bill Haupt on or about Sept 1978. Both at 5346 W. Cermak Rd.
Bergl Chevrolet was zone: 11 Dealer code: 043
