The folks at Marchese Chevrolet were so great to not only keep the old bill of sale for my 1966 Corvette, but they dug and found them in a day.... any one out that way... say hello to Larry at Marchese in Fort Montgomery, NY for me... Now... If I can just locate the original owner....! Anyone know Edward Downes? My quest is to understand how/why my 1966 Convert was built in 1965 as a base model (3 speed manual trans) with Laguna Blue paint and then became painted over in red with trip tail lights by the time I bought in in 1971. I'm sure it's an interesting story.

Interesting that someone from Dedham , MA would go all the way to New York to buy a Corvette when there were many Chevrolet dealers in Boston and surrounding communities.- Top

That's the easy part of the story.... That dealer is the closest to West Point Academy. Many cadets bought there.... the real question is how it was modified by 1971 and sold in Pennsylvania (Souderton Motors)- Top
