History please- 72 Coupe 06110

Trying to put together history on my 72 coupe. So far I found out the car was stolen at one time. 1Z37K2S506110.Any help here?

You can ask NCRS to do a dealer shipping report ($50?). That will get you started on where it sold as brand new.

Do you have any paperwork with the car, i.e., original documents, service receipts, insurance cards, etc? If you have the name of a state where the car was located you may be successful in asking that state's DMV for historic info. I hit a brick wall in AZ when I asked for my own purchasing info from the late-80s – they stated they don't keep records that far back.

Thankyou for the reply. I did ask the NCRS about any information about the car. I do have 2 build sheets and it showed dealer code 560 zone 17. Production was 11/2/71,but thats about how far I got. Thank you all for the help.The corvette will be on the road very soon. Its been off close to 20 years.

From what I've seen as to lists, the Zone 17's central location was Memphis, TN. I don't know what the methodology was for assigning dealer numbers but don't believe it would be reliable to say dealers #559 and #561 are in the same neighborhood as #560 since opening and closing dealerships would create havoc on the existing numbers.

Does anyone know the system GM used to assign dealer codes?

I don't know if it helps but dealers in that zone bounced around Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee are listed alphabetically.
dealer 556 was BOB ROGERS in Paris, Arkansas 72855
dealer 561 was ROOKER CHEVROLET in Sardis, Mississippi 38666

No idea about 557, 558, 559 or 560. You will do some internet legwork or call current Chevy dealers in
those cities that might be of help. Visit your local library for old phone directory info.

So the dealer you are looking for was in AR, MS OR TN with the dealer name starting with RO and no later than ROO
