I have a late year 1964 corvette (20251) and sprung for a NCRS shipping data report which listed dealer code 530, zone 0 but for the name and location of the dealer it just states Chevrolet Division MI. Anyone have any further information on this dealer or what this actually means? Thanks.
Steve,
When zone 0 was used it means the vehicle was delivered to/paid for by a business unit of GM thus no dealer was involved. From the limited info we have it appears this vehicle went to some unit of the Chevrolet Division. After the vehicle was used for whatever task it was ordered for it went to dealer auction or purchase by a GM employee.

wow; would have never guessed that, thank you Mark for that information. Another question then, does the MI mean it was a GM business unit based in Michigan? Was this a common thing within Chevrolet? Car is a fully loaded late 1964 convertible 327/300hp, PS, PB, PW, AC, KOs, and leather interior; silver blue with white/ blue leather interior. Might it have been a GM executive personal car? Thanks for your assistance here.
Michigan is the state where GM was headquartered. If there is information that indicates another location then that will be noted. It may be that with all those options the car went to an executive. Who knows.

Thank you Mark, very interesting. I’ve owned the car 42 years and early on was able to document the ownership back through 5 previous owners, the last 4 in Mississippi and actually talk to those 4 owners. The 5th one (earliest owner) owned the car prior to 1967 and was in St. Louis MO so I just assumed the original owner bought the car in St. Louis and had it till it was sold to the 1st MS owner in 1967. Again, thank you for your knowledge and response, another piece of history for my car.
