The Shipping Data Report gives you the GM official Production Date, the original delivery dealer code and zone, and the name and address of the Dealer. In my case the GM official Production Data was 4/20/1966. The original delivery dealer was Dealer code 184 in zone 35. The name and address for the Dealer was Malcolm Konnor Chevrolet in Paramus, N.J.
The good part is that I always thought my car was delivered to Konner Chevrolet in Caldwell, N.J. Thanks NCRS!
Does anyone know anything or anyone at Malcolm Konnor Chevrolet in Paramus, NJ? Years ago when I was doing research on the history of my car I heard that Malcolm Konnor Chevrolet has the records from the 60's located in another state. Any feedback would be very helpful.
I walked through the dealership last month and did not recognize anyone.
As you know the dealership is no longer Malcolm Konner. Malcolm passed away at least 30 years ago on a trip on the Orient Express. His son's took over the business and a few years later GM took over the dealership.
They had an area inside the building on the lower floor that was full of Corvettes from many different years. That is now gone also.
Saying that, I'm sure the new GM management team removed all the records and cars as well as anything else associated with the prior owners. I have no idea as to where it went. There was a few old pictures on the second floor that were there in the 60's.
I knew the family as I lived in Paramus at that time.
I purchased my first new car from that dealership...a 1968 Camaro. I wanted a corvette but that was the best I could do at the time.
The dealership is now called Paramus Auto Mall and is owned by the Meyers family. The owner Gene Meyer passed away in July of this year. He was great guy...sponsered a corvette show at the dealership every year. They still have a corvette only showroom on the second floor. I would try contacting Gene's son Stephen (owner of Hawthorne Chevrolet) who might be able to put you in touch with the Konner family who I believe still have a collection of corvettes.
