My 68 was delivered to Mike Savoie Chevrolet in Birmingham, Michigan. I am aware that this dealership is still in business and will be contacting them soon. In the meantime, I would be very pleased to hear from anyone having information/recollections about the dealership in its early days. Is its current location its original location?

I extend sincere thanks to those at NCRS who were instrumental in making this information available to the membership. I now have information that I was convinced I would never have. No longer is my car an orphan!

My "66" data sheet also shows delivery Dealer Code 405 Zone 44 which is Mike Savoie Chevrolet in Birmingham, Mi.

I welcome your interest in my request for information.

I have found through an internet search that Mike Savoie Chevrolet was incorporated in 1966 and, I assume, started business then in Birmingham.

Based on its website, Mike Savoie Chevrolet appears to be a large, modern dealership with the address 1900 West Maple Road, Troy, MI 48084-7105. Curiously, this location appears on a map to be closer to the heart of Birmingham than it does to the heart of Troy. It is for this reason that I asked previously about the possibility of an "original" or "previous" location.

There WAS a "previous" location - that dealership was originally "North Chevrolet", on South Woodward Avenue in Birmingham; I worked there in the parts department in 1957 (when Duntov cams were $18.00 ). North sold out to Mike Savoie at the original location in 1966, and moved to the current location in the 70's.

If my memory serves, I think Mike Savoie Chevrolet used to be on the corner of Old Woodward and Lincoln in downtown Birmingham.
