I've owned my 1964 Corvette for 10 years but have never been able to get ownership detail prior to 1972. I was hopeful that the new shipping info service would finally get me there but no such luck. The dealer code is 563 in zone 3- no dealer info available- believed to be in MO or IL.
If anyone in Missouri or Illinois has original paperwork on their mid-year I sure would appreciate their checking their dealer code, zone and dealer on the off chance it might be the above; or at least it might give me the zone.
It is hard to believe that with all the work NCRS has done and all the input members have given that we would not at least know what geographic area zone 3 was in the mid sixties.
This shipping report feature is a great service to members, I am just not one of the lucky ones.
An additional thought/question- on my report the dealer code and zone is given but not the dealer name. Does that mean that on all shipping records the dealer name is omitted for dealer 563 and zone 3?? Or is it possible that on other shipping records for that dealer/zone the dealer's name and address is given. If so will NCRS, once the initial rush is over, go back and try to cross reference the reports? Could not this info be put in a database so it could queried?
