Shipping Data* Bob Motl Chevrolet Chicago, IL

Received my info today on my '73 LS4 Coupe.

I don't have a original build sheet or any paperwork that may have been on the car. I have checked with past owners and none of them ever remember seeing any. Even the owner who did the "Restoration" on the car back in 1991.

I was shocked! I am the seventh owner or maybe even more and I believe I have all the names of the previous owners except the first one. I have read all the receipts and paperwork that had been carried over from previous owners and had always believed my car came from a selling Chevy dealership in South Carolina? So you can understand my confusion.

I got right away on the internet and found that this Chevy dealership changed its name and moved in 1975 to Apple Chevrolet in Tinley Park, IL and is still in business today.

I will re-read all my paperwork and starting reading and calling. I don't mind the leg work because I even enjoy it. It's like looking for that old old NOS part that your car needs.

Chicago is a very large city and I do know several active members on this board and someone may remember this dealership.

The original dealership was on the southside of Chicago in the Roseland neighborhood on "The Ave".

Thanks in advance for any info. and thanks NCRS!

I have always wanted to have made a Chevrolet Window Sticker for my '73.

Since I haven't ever had a build sheet or any info on paper of what the car options were can I now have that Window Sticker made with the Shipping Data Infomation I received today with the Dealer Name, Address, number and zone?

I know pretty much how the car was made and what were the options from previous owner history.

    Thanks.

      Pete,
Am sending this a second time as it failed due to the server being busy...
Did your car have a tank repair or replacement during its previous restoration? Was that the reason for not having the Build Sheet?

Mine is gone also but for another reason. It is a convertible with AC and so there is not a trough below the rear deck vents to protect the sheet; it was long destroyed by the time I got to it. Plus my interior was replaced by the previous owner and he did not seem to care about the original paperwork when he owned it.

        Yes Bob.

During Restoration in 1991 a new gas tank was installed and the owner did not find a build sheet. He also completely replaced the interior to code 404 Black Leather which he prefered over the correct 400 Black Vinyl and did not find a build sheet either behind the dash or under the carpeting. Last year I completed another interior restoration complete seating, console, door panels and carpeting to put correct to trim tag.

I have spoke with him on the phone several times asking about the car and any build sheets as we are in the same airline industry, but no build sheet.

I would think that I have enough info for a window sticker that you can send in for? Maybe?

I have sent several emails out and looked a many websites and past photo albums. I do know some information and that the dealership is still in business under another name and at another location.

Found a picture of the address that my original dealership was at in 1972. I think this picture was taken around 2005? Today a low income retirement home sits at the site.

I am still looking for photos of the original store front from 1972.
