    Harrell Chevrolet in Emporia, Virginia

Does this dealership ring a bell to anyone?
Got My NCRS shipping Report yesterday. Now I know where my 72 Coupes life began and the search begins. Harrell Chevrolet is Dealers Code is 250 in Zone 37 in Emporia, Va. My 72 Coupe was delivered to this dealer sometime in January or February 1972. I have had the car for 30 years so I need to fill in the first 8 years it's life and this is a start.
    Anyone know of this dealer?
I have been web searching and calling since yesterday to find out any info on this dealer. I have found out it is now Boyd Chevrolet and before that it was Sandler Chevrolet and before that Harrell Chevrolet. I have posted my 72s data to the NCRS Dealer List in hopes of helping someone else too.
    Regards
    John

    John,

Don't know or not if you knew it was Sadler and Sandler was a typo, but it is Sadler. Their number is (434) 634-5134. Maybe they can provide some info.

    Good luck,

    Bob

Your right Bob it was typo error on my part, it is Sadler Chevrolet. I did call them yesterday and Sadler is a well established name in Emporia, Va which according to the web is about 5,600 people today. Sadler bought out Herrell Chevrolet in Nov 1969 and took over Harrell's Dealer Code 250 and Zone 37. Sadler sold the dealership part to Now Boyd Chevrolet. Sadler has a auto repair Complex very close by today also.

I believe that the Sadler Chevrolet dealership is/was owned by the family that includes Nascar brothers Hermie Sadler ( now a TV commentator for Nascar races ) and Elliott Sadler who drives the 19 car in Sprint Cup. Hermie's web site indicates that he ran three dealerships in Emporia VA earlier in his racing career.

Jerry, I believe that their father's name was George? He was running the dealership when I purchased quite a few used trucks from them in the late '70's and early '80's

I went to Hermi's web site and it said that Elliot and Hermie's dad was Herman Sadler Jr. and what would be their Grandfather was Herman Sadler Sr.
Maybe his middle name was George?

I bought the car from a gentleman in Newport, North Carolina which is only 180 miles from Emporia Va. and trailered the car to California where it been in my possession since 1980.
Trying to look up possible a Historical Society in Emporia, Va to see what they can come up with too.
This could make me the second owner.
