I am from Pennsylvania and all my cars are not from Pennsylvania. I am just curious about cars sold from dealers in PA? I always thought it would be neat to find a car that sold new from my hometown. Any cars from McKenzie Chevy or Lentine Chevrolet in PA?
How many cars have been found from Pennsylvania??

Re: How many cars have been found from Pennsylvania??
Matthew,
If one of those dealers is Dealer Code 290 in Zone 49, mine was sold there!
Seriously, my car was sold in Pennsylvania, I do not know the dealer name or town. I am pretty sure it was southeastern PA, near Reading or Lebanon. It lived most of it early life up until the late '80s in that area.
What area of PA are you from?

I've got a 71 that was sold at matt Slap Chevrolet in Philadelphia. Zone 15 - Dealer 628. A fellow NCRS member that lives 5 miles from me has a 71 from that dealer as well.- Top

Re: How many cars have been found from Pennsylvania??
Any of you guys know someone that was around the Kennett Square and Langhorne PA area?
I "think" my car was transferred to Reedman's, and I have a PA title 1 transfer date of 8-4-69.
If owner #3 really is #3 owner, then the car made its way out to Clearfield PA.
Any ideas on who is around there, Red vert with one hot 427.- Top

Re: How many cars have been found from Pennsylvania??
After extensive research, I located and spoke to all 7 previous owners of my '65 red convertible; other than the first owner. Thanks to the Shipping Data Report, I now know that my car was delivered to Hackenberg Chevrolet in Milton, PA, but according to the second owner, it was sold at Hallman's Chevrolet in Johnstown, PA (via a dealer trade). Hallman's was located at 91 Central Avenue; Zone 13, Dealer 385. My car remained in Johnstown until 1984 before the third owner took it across the state line to Maryland. Did you live in the Johnstown area between '65 and '84? Perhaps you know something about the early years of my car??

Re: How many cars have been found from Pennsylvania??
Matthew - Roger,
We know for sure the car passed through Reedman's. Did they buy it new from Mason in Kennett Square (?), probably given they sold over 300 Corvette's per year and had 2 people buying cars from other dealers full time.
We know of a 8-4-69 title 1 transfer date
In either '72 or '73 the car was sold to Todd's Auto Sales of Selinsgrove.
We are not 100% sure of owner #3 due to inconsistencies in his story.
1973 & up we know the owners, basically from '75 on we have 100% history with #4 not being sure when he got the car at Todd's Auto Sales, most likely spring of '73.
Red, white top, perhaps crager 5 spoke style mag wheels, 390HP 427. That is about it, other than it was originally a two-topper. I placed an ad in the Clearfield paper hoping to get someone to look at the 1972 papers to see if this car was for sale. I have already checked Hemmings and they had nothing in that year. If #3 was not the real 3rd owner, then we are looking for three people from Philly west to Selinsgrove. It could have been that Todd bought this at the local auction if Reedman took it back on trade in '72, recall in the early to mid 70's, no one wanted these cars, the guy that bought it in 1973 paid a healthy sum of $2500. I have been in touch with a guy that worked for Todd, and also Todd's brother, neither remember the car which means he got it and sold it real fast, again we think that year was 1973.
Any other ideas? I would be real nice to find the 1st owner...- Top

Matt.
Thank you for your suggestion. I will check in with the Flood City Corvette Club and see what they can remember from the 70's & 80's.
