Tom....Thanks for the leads.....I spent time late last night on the web looking and also came up with the Hunter Dorman Motor Co address....I'm planning a road trip to Versailles.....It's a small town county seat and someone in town just might remember the car
Tom.....Looks like principle owner of Hunter Dornan is James Dornan and his wife Emma ....He is the same age as me...born 1943....i'm willing to bet the car was his high graduation present....this is getting interesting

Dana...Thanks....I'm doing a short road trip to Versailles,mo tomorrow.....I'll be sure to find that address....google maps says it's one block off of the county courthouse square....the dealership has changed names to Hunter-Dornan....Wish me luck.
Made trip to Versailles....Successor to the original Hunter-McDonough dealer ( Hunter-Dorman ) is now out of business and is a boat dealership.
Found out from the boat people that Jim Hunter ( owner ) died a few years ago and that his widow sold the business. They said she volunteered her time at the local library.
Found her at the library. I had suspected that Jim had perhaps bought the car when he started work in the family business. Not so she said and she did not remember the car .
She was very cooperative and interested....She took my phone number ....email address and copy of the NCRS shipping paper with a promise to make some calls and contacts. Said that she graduated from Versailles high school in 1963 and she would find someone who would remember.
