I just received my Shipping Data Report and my 1972 LT-1 was originally delivered to Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach. This dealer still exists and my initial inquiry with them yielded nothing. They only keep records going 10 years back. Is anyone aware of anyone who may have more information or Cormier records or anyone who may have worked there in the early 70's? Thanks for any help.
Hello Billy What is the Dealer code no.# / Zone # that you have for your 72 ????, I have 72 also but base engine. I recieved ship data report for my 1972 Corvette Coupe. (1) The GM offical production date is 6/29/72 . (2) The original delievery dealer was Dealer Code 308 in Zone 20. The name & address for the dealer was. ( No dealer info available believed to be in CA. or AZ. ) Thats what was in my report ,I believe the dealer to be in Califorina because my 72 has the base engine with Air-Inection Reactor. According to my current 70-72 Corvette Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide page 67 it reads > Those cars equipped with the AIR system were LT1's , all LS6's , all 1972 454's , all 1972's delievered to Califorina and NB2-equipped base 200 horsepower.-------- * Those 200 horsepower(base engine) Corvettes delievered for sale in Califorina were required to be equiped with NB2 which included among other air items AIR. --------Base engine Corvettes delievered for sale in the other 49 states were not equipped with an Air Injection System nor drilled & tapped for AIR fitting. If ANYONE has info to help me find name & address of the dealer ---your help is greatly appreicated -----send me email ( cpstingray@hughes.net) or call (480-720-0684) Thank You from Charles in ARIZONA.

Charles,
What version of the TIM&JG do you have? I ask because I am trying to track down how and where some text was lost between versions. You have the 1972 base engine data right; the most recent version of the TIM&JG has different -- possibly truncated -- text.
To Terry, Billy & all-I made error on info from the TIM&JG Correction> 70-72 TIM&JG 4th Edition ,Green cover: Page 67, Air-Injection Reactor Fittings > Engines equipped with Air-Injection Reactor (AIR) systems have four holes tapped into each manifold for the AIR pipes. Those cars equipped with the AIR system were all LT1s,all LS6s,all 1972 454s,all 1972s delievered to California and NB2-equipped base 200 horse power. * Those 200 horsepower (base engine) Corvettes delievered for sale in California were required to be equipped with NB2 which included amoung other items AIR ; therefore, those manifolds were drilled and tapped for AIR fittings. Base engine Corvettes delievered for sale in the other 49 states were not equipped with the Air Injection Reactor System nor drilled and tapped for the AIR fittings. In either case the casting numder is the same. Page 76>AIR REQUIRED VECHILES- Those cars quipped with AIR systems included all LT1s, 1971 LS6 engines , all 1972 454 engines, 1972 base engines (200 HP) and all delievered for sale in California. We have seen no documentation to indicate that Corvettes prepared for export to Canada or elsewhere were equipped with any different emissions equipment than those delievered in the United States. Therefore,Corvettes bulit for export are judged with the same emissions requirements as those delievered in the USA.
