Any one remember this dealership from Barberton,Ohio? Has any one done a title search in this state? Are there any local corvette clubs ? Thanks for your input.Ed

I dug up some old records and show they started in Barberton in 1958. The county they were in was Summit. They filed documents that showed a move to Akron in 1968. The company appears to have disolved in 2009 from what I can see. They also had a Ford dealership at one time.

Burton Greenwald was the owner and Lois Greenwald was the secretary. Maybe you can track her down if she is still living.

I will PM you another name and address that showed up that may help you find some info !!

Burt Greenwald Chevy was a large dealer in the Akron area. They had an extensive parts sale network and were known for their extremely large parts inventory. They used to deliver to my company over 35 miles away and were tops in pricing and salesperson knowledge. There should be many former employees available in the Akron/Barberton area. Put an ad in The Akron Beacon Journal to find them or maybe Carig's list.

Our Barberton High Auto Mechanics class was located in the old Burt Greenwald Chevrolet building. Also I recall my dad ordered a big block malibu from there in 65. they processed the order only to notify him a few days later the the big block malibu had stopped production. He sid they gave him some kind of a discount that he could apply to any car on the lot with the exception of the Corvette. He ended up buying a new 65 Impala 396 SS.

...my 1974 Corvette was bought there brand new Sept 17, 1973 by the original owner. Burt Greenwald Chevrolet turned into "Greenwald Chevrolet" probably about the time his daughter Gretchen March took over the operation. She recently sold the dealership in the last year or two to the Vandevere Olds Group(that had an Oldsmobile dealership in Akron for decades). It is now Vandevere Chevrolet in the last Greenwald Dealership location on Wooster Ave in Akron, Ohio(where it had been since the early '70s/maybe the late '60s). On my 1974 Corvette's broadcast sheet it says...
