I'm looking for anyone who may remember a 64 White Big Tank Fuelie that was delivered new by Oursman Chevy? Or, Does anyone remember that car being raced in the VA area in the mid 60's.
HI John, I'm still stripping crazy primer from the underside of the car. It does not look like there is any indication on the frame of roll bars being welded to it. There were some non OEM side pipes bolted to the car, but no indications of any racing modifications. Unfortunately, I recieved the car completely disassembled so I have no visual history.
I know this is an old post but I test drove a used 63 or 64 Corvette in approx. 1968 at Sound Chevrolet in Morehead City N.C. It was White with a Black stripe small block FI with a roll bar and 36 gallon fuel tank. It also had some sort of black side exhaust with some dark mag wheels. It ran so bad we had to cut the test drive short and return to the dealership. They were asking 1500.00 for it as is and would not even tune it up so that it could be driven. I walked away from it. Sure would like to have that chance again. Snapped and popped the whole way. It was not a local car and I have wondered many times what happened to it. Not too far from Va. so its a possibility of it being the same car. I suspect it was a military trade-in. Mike
