I just received my Shipping data report and my 70 Corvette was delivered to Tremont Chevrolet in the Bronx, NY. This is unusual because the insruance rates in the Bronx in 1970 were horrendus and for a Corvette were astronomical. As a result very few Corvettes were sold in this area. I know because that is one of the reasons I didn't have a Corvette in 1970. In adittion Tremont Chevrolet is located within a mile of where I was born and I lived about 2 miles away in 1970. Small world indeed.

Re: Its a small world isn't it?
Not only was it expensive, in many cases it was unavailable. In 1971 when I told my insurance agent I wanted to buy a Corvette he told me that if I bought anything but a base engine small block he would not write a policy. I lived just across the Throgs Neck Bridge in Bayside.

That's because it was a short hop across the Whitestone or Throggs Neck Bridges to the south Bronx and never-never land. Bayside High School?
