I have purchased several thousand original 63 and 64 service records from Sound Chevrolet Morehead City, N.C. One of the records was for a 1963 Corvette dated 12-9-63 belonging to G. R. Curlee, Trade Winds Mobile Homes, Key West, Fla Milage at that time 4323 miles, Motor number F0614RD, serial # 30867S117777, Trim Std, Paint 941A, unknown code of B-4057. It shows warrenty work being done plus non-warrenty body work. If current owner is out there I will send them this. Please contact me through the NCRS

Great find Mike, too bad you didn't find service records for 1966 as you know my car was possibly sold at Sound. Hopefully you can find info for someone out there!
Happy hunting, Tim- Top

Re: 63 Coupe 30837S117777 I have info for you.
Michael,
That's neat info and I hope you find the car.
I had no information on this coupe in my '63 file but do have the next car built recorded.
It's interesting that they noted the stamp pad info in Dec. '63 showing the RD engine and date code. And what a cool serial number.
Any more 63's??

Hi Tim, Thats what caused me to run across this was trying to locate something that might help you. There was only about 18 months records starting in Feb 1963. It does include the new car car check ins with all their info. I wish they had the 65-66 to help you. Mike- Top

Hi Mike,
Again, very interesting that in 1963 this dealer recorded not only the engine code but the trim tag info as well.
This must be very unusual?
Everyone always states that back then no one cared about numbers or paid much attention, if any, to things like the stamp pad or trim tag.
Well now we see an example to the contrary.
Very cool. If I ever come across this car I'll make sure to notify you.
Are your other '63 records as detailed?
Thanks Mike!

Re: 63 Coupe 30837S117777 I have info for you.
Hi Syd, A lot of the work orders contained this info. Sad part is the they sold very few Corvettes at this dealership. I have gone through all of them now and thats the only one I found for a Corvette. They sold a lot of Chevelles , Novas, and Trucks with all the info on their make-ready sheets. I was looking for the 66 records for another member which the guy that owns the building says he tossed. The old guy saved these just to show how cheap work was in that time period. He is probably more upset than anyone after I gave him 20 bucks for these as he had no idea that he could get money for them. Hes a tight old joker but I am glad he saved these. I am sure if he runs across anymore he will call me. Mike- Top
