Searching Info on 1965 Convertible

I posting a new message as I haven't had any response to previous posts, I am always hoping someone new will get on the discussion board and have some information.
The information I have found to date is listed below. The strange thing is when I called the number listed I got a recording stating This number does not accept incoming calls per the subscriber. Wouldn't that indicate the number is still active?

George, I sent you a PM. A friend of mine, who isn't an NCRS member, has a 66 Milano Maroon 427-425 Coupe that he's owned for a long time and I'm pretty sure his Coupe was originally sold in Marysville, California. I'll let you know if he has any info to pass along.

George, I talked with my buddy Mark last night and his Milano Maroon '66 Bigblock Coupe was indeed sold at Daoust Chevrolet in Marysville California just like your 65 Roadster but while he has quite a bit of information on his car, he didn't have much news on the dealership. He has owned that Coupe since around '77 and was fortunate enough to receive a lot of paperwork with it back then and that documentation (Protecto-Plate/Maintenance-Repair Receipts) helped him put his car's history together. The Dealership salesman's name was written in the owners manual as well. Back in the mid 80's he tried to contact the salesman who originally sold his car, last name McCabe, but wound up talking to the man's widow since he had passed on a year or two earlier. The original owner of the Coupe was an Air Force Captain named J. R. Knight assigned to the 456th Strategic Air Wing at Beale AFB which is only 6 miles from Marysville but while his name is on the POP, his wife (Gehla Knight) was the person who ordered that car and was the one who drove it most of the time. Mark talked to her just a few years ago, she has a consulting business and is a fiction writer in Portland, Oregon, and said they sold the Coupe in '74. As for that phone number you tried for the Daoust Chevrolet Dealership, (916-) 743-9233, I suspect that it now belongs to a private party because in '97, a new area code (530) was created for the areas north of the Sacramento region including Marysville leaving the 916 area code for Sacramento and it's immediate area.

Hi, thank you for checking with your friend Mark. It sounds like he has a nice car and was fortunate to get some history with it. I guess it is pretty exciting to connect with previous owners and or spouses, I hope to get there some day myself. I also wish I had started this search 10 years ago, or better yet bought a car with history.
