I have a friend who has a highly optioned corvette that he has owned for years. The car has what he believes is the original protecto plate. He sent for the shipping report and when he recieved it he was suprized to find that the dealer was different from his documentation. The dealership was in the same state but about 70 miles away. The dealer listed on his protecto plate as the selling dealer was a big corvette dealer of its time and the dealer that the shipping report denotes was a small town dealer. Its safe to assume that the big dealer needed a car on the spot and did a dealer trade with the small dealership?

Re: Dealer trade possible??
Yes, the protecto plate is all the documentation that he has but has talked to family members of the original owner who claim the car is from the dealer on the protecto plate?? Is that enough to assume that it was a dealer trade?- Top
