I may be in the wrong section so if I am, please direct me where to try. I sent in my payment for the dealer info search just after the search was made available and unfortunately was told my car was not on the list. Is there a chance that more information has come to light since so that another look would be something to try?
Thanks,
Brad
Thanks Don,
I guess I was in the right place afterall but I was surely hoping for a different answer. My 69 was a Nov build also. Really disappointing... I suppose if the microfiche was bad, there will be no chance of anything materializing in the future.
Brad
My end of January built 1970 is MIA also. I have noted a number of early 1970 owners posting a lack of info. Looks like either a bad batch of micro film or the usual difficulties in accounting for the long run of 1969 production. Lots of things, like counts for 1969 and 1970 colors got lost in the extended 1969 production.
Thanks Terry,
I wish I had known what I was doing (not that I do now) before I bought my 69 years ago. I love the car and have a fortune tied up in the restoration, but I never should have purchased a car with virtually no documentation. I owned a 70' back in college and in those days a corvette was just another used car. Boy did that all change 30 someodd years later. Oh well... Maybe something will turn up on them one of these days.
Thanks again,
Brad
While this documentation is very good, in general documentation is over rated. Remember, folks were producing fraudulent paper and artwork centuries before there was a Corvette. Corvettes are a "Johny come lately" to the paper scene. Thankfully, NCRS provides independent confirmation for the selling dealer, but that is a drop in the bucket in the bigger scheme of things. It may provide a clue for further research, and that is good -- but there is oh so much more we want.
