Dealer in Brookline MA- Konners Chevrolet

Hi I see quite a bit of info on a Malcolm Konner Chevrolet in New Jersey. My search turned up a Konner Chevrolet in Brookline Mass. Any relationship ? Does it ring a bell with any of you East coast guys?. The 63 and I are in Iowa. Thanks

You are referring to Konners Chevrolet in Boston. Just saw a service department shirt from the 60's from Konners the other day. Mr. Scher was the owner of Konners and later opened Scher Chevrolet in Brockton, Mass. after Konners closed in the 70's. Ralph Spears will chime in on this as he worked at Konners in the 70's and he can explain any connection (if any)to Malcom Konner Chev. in NJ.

      Hi Dave
Thanks for your quick help. My NCRS letter sez the the dealer was 391 in zone 32. Konner's Chevrolet Brookline Ma. Does this change your thought?

No change. Brookline is part of Boston.

What would you like to know?? The dealer was at 800 Huntington Ave in Boston. The building is still there and is currently used by New England Babtist Hospital.

Attached is a photo of a Konners Chevrolet service department shirt from the 60's courtsey of Ralph Spears. This is the Boston Konners not Malcom Konner.

I saw someone wearing that shirt at a Regional not all that many years ago. Most of us couldn't get into our clothes from the '70s, if we had them and had the courage to wear them.

It must have been Ralph at one of the Marlborough, Ma. meets.

Ralph is probably the only one in our chapter who can fit into his 60's clothes

I ran across a 1969 article that suggests the Konner had dealerships in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Ohio. See attached.
