Hello folks

Does anyone remeber the Chevrolet dealer in Tappahannock, VA in 1978 named B & S Chevrolet Sales, Inc. ?

The documentation for my car shows the vehicle was delievered to B & S Chevrolet Sales, Inc. in Tappahannock, VA. Any history about the dealer would be helpful.

I'm driving to Tappahannock later today to meet with a customer. I'll stop in at the present Chandler Chevrolet dealership and ask if anyone has any info.

What year car was delivered to B & S?

The Car is a 1978 Pace Car # 6102 out of 6502. It was delivered in May of 1978.

No luck at the current Tappahannock Chevrolet dealership, Chandler Chevrolet. Employees don't recall B&S.

The owner, Bryan Chandler, wasn't available to speak with. In case he does have any knowledge of B&S, the dealer phone number is 804-443-5100.

I appreciate the effort. I keep trying to dig up some info. There has to be someone or some records that show this place existed. I 'm sure NCRS HAS to have something in there archive. I have the original dealer code.

B & S Chevrolet was located on US RT 17 in tappahannock. Bareford Buick was on the same side of the road. someone there may have some info.

From what I can tell, they disolved in December of 1994. Can't guarantee that to be a fact, but that's what the record shows I found. Here's and obituary I found. The book keeper for the dealership.

DAVIS, Christine Stevens, 89, of Tappahannock, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was the last surviving sibling of 12 children. A member of Ephesus Baptist Church, she was a retired bookkeeper for B & S Chevrolet and Tidewater Farm Supply. Christine is survived by her husband, Archie S. Davis; her daughter, Nancy Davis, of Arlington; numerous nieces and nephews, including her devoted niece and caregiver, Patty Loving and her husband, Roland, of Dunnsville. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, in the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. Interment will follow in Essex Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , c/o Linda Lumpkin, P.O. Box 481, Tappahannock, Va. 22560, or the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 1881 Gloucester, Va. 23061.
