My 1970 LT-1 coupe started it's life at Les Stanford Chevrolet. Does anybody know much about them?

The Stanford family is very supportive of the local Corvette community. They host major Corvette shows and are very generous with their facilities. The Corvette Club of Michigan (large autocross-oriented NCCC club founded 1958) hold their monthly meetings at Stanford.

Ironically, they are located right in the heart of Ford country in West Dearborn Michigan!

when we went to ford museum we stayed at a motel next to that dealership and they had over new 100 corvettes in inventory. this was a few years ago.

Ground was scraped clean last year - no more hotel, but for being in the home town of Henry Ford and the heart of the only auto company that did not take all your tax dollars and disappear...a lot of nice new Vette's there.

You may want to speak with Gary Stanford as well. Gary was involved with the dealership back in the 70's when his Dad ran it, and may recall your car. He and his brother Paul operate this and a few other dealerships today. He had a 72 LT1 conv. himself if I remember correctly.
