Port Neches, Texas

After paying to find out where my 1970 was sold and getting the paperwork from my mailbox yesterday I was surprised to learn the car was sold new in Port Neches, Texas near the Gulf of Mexico. It was sold by Gordon Chevrolet but I don't think it is in business any longer. I added the data so others can see it.
Since purchasing the car in 2004 I originally believed it was sold in San Antonio. If anyone can recall Gordon Chevrolet in Port Neches, Texas or knows someone who sold cars there during the late '60s and early '70s I would like to hear from them.

I believe the dealership was located here.

The dealer was Jack R. Gordon. Not sure if he is still around or not. I believe they started in 1960.

Thanks, Tom. Just a bit more information than I had. I did an Intelius search and a Jack R. Gordon shows to be still living in Port Neches and shows to be 95 years old but no address or telephone number.

Websites like Intellius have no idea when a person dies so they just keep listing them. Jack Gordon was born 1915, died 4 March 1989, last known address in Port Neches. If you want to contact the family call the local reference librarian in Port Neches and ask her for his obituary which should list his children. My red/red 66 convertible was sold new at Inman Chevrolet in Port Arthur a few miles from Port Neches. It was sold out of a driveway in 1980 in Port Neches but Ii cannot find the seller. Is anyone from Port Neches area out there? Bill Gould

Wow....so Intelius could list someone 150 years old and not say that someone had passed away. Thanks for the heads up on the library lead. I just hope that the library will divulge the information given all of the identity theft protections.

Obituaries are published in the newspaper so they are public record. Anything that is public record is available if you know where to look. The librarian should be able to look it up on their microfilm of the local newspaper. Good luck. If you have any trouble finding the obit let me know. Bill Gould
