Has anyone seen this red '57 in Connecticut?

The VIN # is E57S100338. I restored this car from a basket case in 1990 and sold it in 1996 at Carlisle. It has a 350/345 Chevy crate engine, a M-22 Muncie rock crusher trans and a 4:11 rear. The interior is all Al Knoch and looks like original with a REAL '57 Wonderbar radio that works. I think now it may have American 5 spoke mags on it instead of the rally wheels.

I've contacted car clubs in the area and the DMV to no avail. However, I know for sure that this car is now in Connecticut. If anyone might know who owns this car now and would be willing to give me some information so I can contact the owner, I would greatly appreciate it. I have found some old photographs and other historical documentation I would like to give the owner. Thanks for any help. PT

OK, after five years of looking for the current owner, I found out who he was yesterday, he called me and we had a long talk. Today I sent him a couple dozen old photos of the basket case car which is now his car. I thought I had tried just about everything to find out who this guy was, but with all these "Privacy Laws" today, it's just about impossible to accomplish something like this.

If you contact any state DMV, they all have a form you fill out with the make, model and VIN, you fill it out and send them $20 and they will send you the history they have on it, but they won't give out any names or addresses. So I tried to think out of the box on this one. I sent the Connecticut DMV an email last week stating that I used to own this 1957 Chevrolet Corvette VIN... and I just found a bunch of old pictures and documents that I was sure the current owner would love to have. Further, I then asked if they could contact the owner and give them my name, phone number and email address and ask him to contact me.

Sure enough, yesterday he called me from Connecticut and was very interested in what I had for him. He gave me his name, address, phone number and email and he is going to email me some photos of the car the way it looks now, which is the same.

So basically, I took the DMV rules and turned the tables around and gave them MY information and asked them to pass it on to the owner of record that they had. Don't think there is any illegal about that and best of all it worked and hopefully, it may work for others. Patrick
