I'm still having no luck finding the name and address of this 1974 Chevrolet dealer. Does anyone have information on this dealer- regardless of the model year? I'm wondering if the NCRS does a kind of reverse cross check? By that I mean, if the name/address of dealer 48-209 appears in (i.e.) 1972 and 1976 documents, and is the same - then it would seem likely that dealer was in operation in 1974. One last thought, I would like to see another new data base established for people who have information on former dealers. Some of us have done alot of research that would be of benefit to others. What do you think?

Bill,
I have been putting dealer information into the Dealer section of this website for years. Go to member services and click on Dealer Codes. That is the way I have done it in the past. Hopefully that feature is still there. I believe most of the information came from members like us.- Top

" Check Dealer Code Data Base " is now almost at the top of this forums page. It's very very small, in blue, and clickable. I too have added info on dealers I found in my area & zone when I was researching my 63.- Top

Zone 48 Dealer 163 was Franklin Chev in Pulaski NY, which is also in the Syracuse area.
Dave, I wonder why Zone 12 and Zone 48 intersected in this area and why the number sequence for the zones are so far off? No method to this madness??

Re: "Triangulating" on dealer code 48-209 (NY?)
Palmyra (Zone 12) is technically between Syracuse (60 mi. west) and Buffalo (95 mi. east) and right next to Rochester. Demeree Chevrolet in Bainbridge NY (south of Palmyra) is Zome 48 like Franklin Chev in Pulaski. I know Zone 02 was in the Tarrytown NY area (near NYC) as I had a 70 that came from Fleet Chevrolet in Mt. Vernon. So in the 200 miles heading north from NYC thay had Zones 02, 48 and 12.
One can only guess how Zone numbers were determined but I'm sure as Chevrolet grew oner the decades they had some logic.- Top

Correct, my mistake. I should have said Dealers. I'm at a lost about Zones Region number assignments. Detroit was 01 so take it from there. Maybe Al Grenning or Tom Russo can give the correct input on Zone Region number assignments.- Top
