While going through some old papers I found this 1976 Corvette invoice from Palmyra Motors Inc. L48, Turbo Hydramatic, AM/FM stereo, Air Conditioning, etc. Spec Paint (Primer) with White Leather Seats / Black Trim. If you now own the Corvette, the invoice is yours. Save the Wave.

This is a very interesting piece of documentation that should be saved to show that, at least in '76 you were able to get a Corvette in primer. I ran the VIN 1Z37L6S424402 through the Department of Justice National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (http://www.nmvtis.gov) and it returned as no record found. What this means is that the vehicle is not currently registered. It does not conclusively prove that the vehicle is no longer out there. NMVTIS only has what the states have contributed. NMVTIS has only been mandatory for the past few years therefore many states did not include back information when they migrated to NMVTIS. Therefore it is VERY POSSIBLE that this car still exists but has simply been unregistered for the last few years.- Top

I ordered and sold these Corvettes while working at Palmyra Motors back in the 70's. I wish I had keep more invoices and paperwork. This was one I found in some old invoices. I have many more invoices from Palmyra Motors. Also I have some invoices from other Chevrolet Dealers that we bought their Corvettes for $500.00 -$1250.00 over invoice back in the day. I remember (wish I had pictures) two 75 Corvette Convertibles I ordered in primer, one we painted Playboy Pink and the other we painted my favorite 69 Riverside Gold. Those were the days. Save the Wave.>George ps the lady who bought the Playboy Pink 75 Convertible still lives here in Rochester, one of our NCRS member talked to her about a 67 Corvette she might of owned. These Corvettes were real and people did buy them in primer from Chevrolet Dealers that knew how to order them. Best of all they did not charge anything extra for the unpainted Corvettes. Sve the Wave.>George- Top
