My '63 SWC was delivered to Dexter Chevrolet, Detroit, MI January, '63. Any information or dealer memorabilia (matchbooks, license frames, etc.) would be appreciated. Google got me a picture from the 70's but not really sure that was the dealer.

Kent:
Since I grew up just a few blocks from Dexter Chevrolet, I can tell you a little about it. It was a good size dealership with a lot of autoworker business. It had a large used car lot with a lot of C2s in the late 60s and early 70s. I would stop there often to "spar" with used car salesmen on a "deal". They had a preety good parts department and a knowledeable parts guy. I got all of my C2s parts there in the early '70s.
You could even say I got my first dose of C2 fever from Dexter Chevrolet..... It was a warm spring evening, when a freind and I saw a '63 SWC being backed off a car hauler and we stopped to look it over. The driver let us poke our heads in the window and sit in it. I looked at that big speedo and tach and thought to myself, "This is one serious car".- Top

John,
that must have been somewhat close to Dawson Taylor and the Vette Shop. My '65 was delivered to Dawson Taylor. If you have any information about that dealer, I'd love to hear it. I'm still trying to track down the original owner of my car.
