My 67 was sold at Placke. I have been looking for info on Placke for several years and there is just not much info about the place. I just found this picture from 1954. I thought that anyone else who has a car from Placke would like to have a picture of what the old building looked like. If you have a car or info about Placke I would like to see it.
I think Bob Kunz worked at Placke,s body shop in the 60s or 70s .I have seen photos of a 62 drag race car they owned or sponsored . What was Plackes address and whats there now ?
My 62 came from Francis ,65 BB from George Miller , 70 from Barford . All St louis dealers all long gone .

Yea thats the same photo ive seen . I wonder who owned the 62 and where its at now ? Is Don Brown in the same location as Placke ,or was placke a little closer to highway 40 ? I painted a few used Corvettes for them in the 70s . All I remember is it was a small showroom and service dept. and they had a small shed in the used car area that had Corvettes in it .

Bill On your suggestion I talked to Bob Kunz yesterday and he remembers the 62 gasser very well he said that it was a NEW 62 that Placke had and it was owned by Pkacke. Two guys names he thought had something to do with the car was Russ Narzinski and Tom Masa? He also said that he thought the car was put back to stock and sold though the dealership!!
He doesn't remember my 67 but has given me a name of a guy that still hangs with the Placke's.
Do you remember a guy from Granite City by the name of Ron Jackson. He had a black 67 coupe.
So we dont have to through the NCRS, my PH # 314 795 1967 and e-mail address bdlacy1@yahoo.com
Thanks for the tip to call Bob.
