just joined after purchasing my 63swc 63-108886 where do I start to get any dealer info? I have no history on car bought at auction in Carlisle a few months ago.

Hello Adam,
welcome aboard. You can start by ordering the Shipping Data Report for your car, which will, if the information is available and it likely is, tell you what dealer originally received your car from the factory. This dealer probably sold your car to the first buyer, though sometimes the car is dealer traded to a different but nearby dealer. Find the SDR under Historical Document Services above in the tool bar under Member Services.
At the same time you can check the C2 Registry, to see if by chance your vin was ever entered there by a prior owner. Look up C2registry.org.
Then, you can search other postings in this forum to get some other tips on tracing the history of your car. Good luck, and again welcome to the club. Happy vetteing!

Adam, I too had very little information about my car until I received my shipping report. With that, and some detective work on the internet, I've been in contact with almost every previous owner, have pictures from them and was able to locate the car's original protecto plate, window sticker and carburetor.
