Other... Read before entering your vin

READ BEFORE POSTING/SEARCHING: A standard format must be used for posting and searching. Our main objective is for you to be able to post information that can easily be searched by members who are looking for your information.

STANDARD FORMAT: Entries for posting AND searching must be made using the format below. This requires a TWO-DIGIT YEAR, DASH AND 5 DIGITS FOR THE ASSEMBLY LINE SEQUENTIAL VIN. If the sequential vin is less than five digits, fill in with zero's to the left of the sequential vin to five places. You can enter the formatted vin in the title box AND/OR message box, but must appear at least one time in your post in the correct format so it is findable when someone makes a search. Use five digits even for those years that may have the same sequential vin used for Pace Car, Bowling Green, ZR1 etc. (78, 81, 86, 90, 91,92). If you are posting, also put in your post the whole vin or narrative saying it is a Pace Car, ZR-1, etc.

For 1953 through 1956 vin's started at 1000, so subtract 1,000 from the actual vin and use that for the actual sequential assembly line number to use in this forum.
Examples of posts and search formats:
For 53 vin #1003 enter this: 53-00003 (note it is the assembly line sequential number that must be used)
    For 56 vin #1022 enter this: 56-00022
    For 57 vin #1 enter this 57-00001, for 57 vin #6325 enter this: 57-06325
    For 62 vin #211 enter this: 62-00211
    For 67 vin #1522 enter this: 67-01522
For 78 vin #6502 enter this: 78-06502 (whether it is a Pace Car or not, and also put in your post the actual vin or that it is a Pace Car or not)
For 81 vin #8995 enter this: 81-08995 (whether it is a St. Louis car or Bowling Green car, and also put in your post which factory it is)
For 90 vin #3049 enter this: 90-03049 (whether it is a ZR-1 or not, and also put in your post the actual vin or that it is a ZR-1 or not)

MULTIPLE VIN'S IN A POST: When making a post, you can enter multiple vin’s using the format above but separate and post them to the corresponding C1 thru C5 forum. Example for a C1 Forum post: I have invoices for these vins: 53-00003, 56-00299, 62-09123

DIFFERENT ITEMS IN ONE POST: You can post different items in one post within the correct forum: Example for a C1 Forum post: I have invoices for these vins: 53-00003, 56-00299, 62-09123. I have dealer orders for 53-00299, 56-00013, 62-008713. (Note: When listing multiple vin’s, you can use commas if you want. If you don't, leave a space between each. A period at the end is OK to use also since tests show it does not affect the search box).

SEARCHING: When you search for a vin, just use the format above in the quick search box AND add quotation marks around your entry. Example of an entry is: "62-00022" This should bring up all posts for 62 sequential vin #22 no matter when posted even if posts were made years apart, as long as the poster followed this format too.
