Greetings: Please see attached pics of these original documents for a 1962 340 4 spd. Corvette traded in on a 1964 coupe. Car was traded to Courtesy Chevrolet of Medford, Oregon on 7-9-1963. 1962 Corvette info is: VIN# 20867s100938, S/N 2x1347, and is described as a "340 HP 4 spd, with R&H and Posi Axle". mDocuments I have are the owners manual, owners service guide and protection plan, and another folder containing the plastic owners' card with owners' name and car VIN, and an enclosed letter from "Bunkie" Knudson, GM of Chevrolet, dated Jan. 12, 1962.

Well, after urging Bill to post his docs for this car, I did a Google search on the VIN and this came up.....sad story it appears car is being auctioned off in Reno, NV

Re: Original Owner Kit Documents For 340 hp 62-00938
Hi, Gary: What a pity! Certainly major fire damage there, beyond repair, in my opinion. Possibly salvageable drivetrain and chassis, though. Upon further inspection of this treasure trove of 1962 docs, I opened up the "1962 Corvette Owners' Guide", and a plastic "Corvette Owner Card" dropped out. This card has "Name" Perry York, and "Serial No" 194670s 400625....?? Later model Vette?- Top

Bill, you might want to contact the seller and tell them what you have. They might buy them from you. If not, maybe they will pass on the info to the buyer. If you see the car got sold and no contact to you, call the seller again and see if they will connect you with the buyer. Don't be surprised if the car gets restored and shows up on the NCRS judging field.Avatar--My 67 in 1977, my first ever vette. Is restored back to marina with blue/white- Top

Re: Original Owner Kit Documents For 340 hp 62-00938
Hi, Gary: Thanks again for the info. I will attempt to contact the salvage yard in Reno to let them know I have these original docs. I may also go there to inspect the car more closely as Reno is about 8 hrs drive from here. I took a very close look at all 10 pics the salvage yard has posted. No pics of the engine were included. Interior pics showed nothing remained except the steering wheel (looked original) and shifter (A Hurst). I will follow as closely as I can what will happen to the car, and work hard to get the docs to the current or future owner. If the car does eventually make it to an NCRS judging field, I will send you a case of one of our fine Oregon brewed beers as a wager!- Top
