Just joined NCRS and found this note for the 1967 Corvette Convertible engine. I bought this car 2 years ago and it has a replacement engine in it. Do you still know where this engine is? I live in New Jersey. The VIN for my car is 194677S110312.

I have written to Robert how to contact Luis and to Luis about this post. Luis wrote back immediately to me:

"Hi Gary
I buy a Corvette 1966 and come with this engine and the owner of my car say to my that he buy the engine to the owner of you car that is 67 and was in that time in Cabo Rojo Puerto Rico. I have yhe block with piston, rod snd crankshaft. is 327 300 Hp."

So this sounds promising.

I did Contact Luis (he was very nice) and we confirmed that this is absolutely the missing block from my ‘67. He lives in Puerto Rico and I’m in New Jersey. I think I’m going to pass on this opportunity to re-unite the engine block to my car. My car is a very nice driver but a lot of mechanical changes have been made, so even adding the original block, it would not be close to NCRS level. The block has already be bored .040 over and may or may not be able to be refurbished. The expense of buying the block and the high cost of shipping that far doesn’t seem to be worth it.

Peter...if you are writing about the number in the original post by Luis, he has a number missing from the pad. I assume it is just mistyping. The pad would have seven characters stamped on it.
