      Sounds like Display mode is set to Threaded Mode. Switch to Hybrid or Linear Mode.

      When in a Thread, upper gray banner sets Display mode. Click on that for options.

          As Richard says, click on display as shown below to change how posts appear in threads.

              Thanks guys. That was the trick. I can’t believe I’ve never noticed that display button before. I’ve been on this site as long as there’s been a site and never noticed that button. I must’ve clicked it accidentally. Again, thank you.
