How do I get a NCRS Historic Shipping Data Report if I’m not asked to provide any vehicle history details?
I was just on line and willing to spend $50 to have the NCRS provide me a shipping report letter for my 1973 Corvette Coupe I currently own. I know the dealer’s name, address, and GM Zone and dealer Numbers. The NCRS Web site did not ask me for any information except for vehicle year and vin number. I don’t believe there is historical GM shipping data for the 1973 model year? Or is there? It may come back as information not available. However, I do know the following.
I purchased my ’73 Coupe from the original owner in Gainesville FL 02/05/80. I have the bill of sale. He purchased the vehicle in Jacksonville FL new off the showroom floor 09/18/73. I have his State of Florida car registrations. The seller gave me all the new car documents including; 1973 Owner’s Manual, Warranty Book, Emission Control Info, Consumer Info, Maintenance Schedule, Firestone Tire Guarantee, Wheel Trim Ring Instruction Sheet, and two other pieces of important information. I do not have the original window sticker. Here are two documents I have to verify the dealer it was sold from.
1. GM New Vehicle Inspection Procedure form GSD99, Rev. 4/72. It shows (hand written) Trim and Paint Serial Numbers, Vin Number, Engine and Transmission Numbers, Axle Number, and Dealer Name: E. F. Connell, Jacksonville FL. Dealer Stock Number 14195. Service Order Number 14378. Signed and dated by Gene, Tech #33, 8-2-73
2. Division of Florida Highway Patrol Vehicle Safety Inspection Report. Owner’s Copy Date 08/02/73
Name: Edward F. Connell Chevrolet. Arlington Exp, Jax. FL
Odometer 12 miles. Vin No. 1Z37Z3S432231
3. The Body Build Date on the Trim Plate is L06 (07/06/73)
My research shows that the zone and dealer was;
Dealer ID NO. 26-112
Address: Edward F. Connell Chevrolet, Inc.
8725 Arlington Expressway
Jacksonville, FL 32211
No longer in business. Last sale registered was on Friday September 3, 1976.
Current building houses, Jacksonville Truck Center- a dealer in used trucks.
I don’t know if the build sheet is still on the gas tank.
All of the above information was posted on the NCRS dealer code data records. Will NCRS HDS provide me a letter verifying this information is valid with just providing just a year and vin number?
