Re: Attn: Person In Charge at NCRS For Posting>"Upcoming Events for the Next 90 Day(s
Just wondering... how did your initial reply, reflect any aspect of a technical discussion?
In the future, perhaps consider using the triangle in the lower left hand corner of EVERY post...
As that would be the proper way to report a problem, and totally avoids blatant 'soapbox' comments.
Then again, people that are well versed in forum design & etiquette (enough to criticize our IT Team)... would know that.
Respectfully....***************

In your proposal, how much time and money will it take to complete these changes?
Additionally, kindly list all the volunteers that have come forward, to totally support your plan.
I'm sure you have it all figured out... please post your unique website example, showcasing our future.
As for example...corvetteforum blows away the NCRS forum...at no charge. Orders of magnitude more useful. It is really very simple..if they can do it, so can NCRS. Replicate that or a reasonable facsimile for paying NCRS members.***************

First step is analysis and building the business case. But that has been a non-starter to date.

Unfortunately, you are clearly showing a lack of insight... as CorvetteForum is absolutely a FOR PROFIT business.
Do you actually think they are providing their website for ANYTHING but the financial gain they generate?
PLEASE compare apples to apples... do you have something EQUAL (or BETTER) to what NCRS does?
BTW- Do you possibly remember when the NCM had a large forum?
What happened to it... any idea why it folded (years ago)?
Simple answer... lack of volunteers and commitment.
I'd really enjoy reviewing your detailed plan and sample website... please let us know when itz ready.- Top

The horror. ya I understand the business model. those ads don't bother me a bit given the phenomenally better utility. easy to ignore. The inertia here is very clear. Happy to stand down until it isn't. IYKYK..IFDYD***************

In addition to what Jack said, as I understand the entire IT team are volunteers. You do know that means no compensation/money for all their time.
Keith, time for you to give it a rest and go quiet.

What percentage of members attend all these expensive remote events that require travel and lodging etc. Mostly those who are retired and have the resources. I had read some threads about the future of the hobby and drawing in the next generations.....***************

Keith,
Please submit your proposal, which must include a "Business Case", complete with example, pros, cons and financial costs.

More dismissive talk. Corvetteforum must have some kind of secret sauce? As I said...total waste of my time unless and until the organization shows gravity and understanding of the situation. just look at the pessimism and negativity in this thread. My offer stands...when you get the Board's attention, you know where to find me. Until then ...this thread reiterates I am urinating in to the wind.

If YOU want to get the Boards attention... nothing is stopping YOU from contacting them.
Have you already discussed these ideas with your Regional Rep.. if not, thatz a starting point.
Don't like their answer, perhaps consider running for that position... then you have a seat on the Board.
Shouting from a soapbox isn't very effective. As they say... you want something done, you often need to do it yourself.
