    Corvette Forum

There has been a lot of discussion comparing our forum to Corvette Forum. Although I don't have much spare time to visit Corvette Forum to really compare features I am familiar with it.

NCRS has three members of the IT Team and has had for the last 20 years or so. Only Rob Musquetier is a trained software engineer. We are looking for members who would be willing to become part of the IT Team. Preferably with programming experience, software security experience, graphic design experience. email deliverability experience, journalism experience, customer relations experience, marketing experience. If you have one or more of those talents and would like to get involved we would love to hear from you.

Corvette Forum on the other hand is part of Internet Brands, INC.

MH Sub I, LLC, doing business as Internet Brands, is a digital media, marketing services, and software company based in El Segundo, California, United States, that operates online media, community, e-commerce, and SaaS businesses in vertical markets. Wikipedia

      Re: Corvette Forum

John, I wish I had the IT sw experience to help the major tasks, but if I can help with some other fill in tasks, I told Gary last week I'd give time what I can to help. But it would be a while since I'm selling and preparing and packing and hopefully moving within a month or two.

        Re: Corvette Forum

I've been a Corvette Forum subscriber for over 20 years and contribute as regularly with it as I do the Tech Forum. Of course, I look to it for C3 tech guidance and contribute my knowledge as an NCRS member who studies, judges and writes primarily about late model C3 topics, preservation, restoration and originality. While the topic of originality is not the in mainstream thinking of CF, it does get subscribers who wish to know and restore their C3 to its factory-original status. I'm currently working with a fellow in Oregon who is restoring a Pace Car...he picked it up with a crate motor and numerous other modes; and it was neglected. Essentially, the Corvette Forum fills the gap that exists with the Tech Forum, for whatever reason and there are probably many. Most of CF subscribers, especially late-model owners, modify their Corvette in an effort to improve performance by adding a cam, carburation, pistons, headers...etc. A group ripe for the struggling NCRS Concours program! And their knowledge of mechanics is exceptional compared to the same model owners on the Tech Forum.

Case in point, I posted at CF on replacing a 78 rear window. Got lots of insights from members that have done the same. Did not bother to post the same on the Tech Forum.

The better analysis is the CF breakout for C2s...why do owners go to CF rather than the Tech Forum. I would guess many hold dual subscriptions and ping both on the same subject.

I've served as the lead technical writer for three TIMJGs, now have taken on the 4th with the 78/79 manual. So I write. I keep a very basic web page with no bells or whistles so I can change it as I wish. I use HTML in adds and edits...and that's the end point of my IT limits.
