Exactly why an off topic section would work.

Only thing Roy is that John Waggoner suggested that we not post using full size pictures, but use thumbnails. Uses quite a bit less server capacity. One or two pictures in not a big deal, but over a period of years with many using large pictures it would add tremendously to the required server capacity. That large picture takes about twice the storage room as a thumbnail would

I understand NCRS deletes them after a few days which I also have done in the past so it's not taking up any server ****e . Again I dont get my answer about HOW MANY little pic's can some one add to thier post ! 1- 2 or 20????? (THUMNAILS)

Now I hit preview and see ****e and I only added the word (s p a c e) after the word server. Is that a bad word now????????????

Now the picture in the body is hosted elsewhere so it will not be retained in the archives, only thumbnails uploaded to the NCRS server will be retained. That being said I think the 2 thumbnail limit is to small, we've seen on the old DB that sometimes a poster will use three posts to get all the pictures posted, so what do you save in server space?

                              I am watching!

The two image limit is conservative. I just upped it to four images to see what comes of it. Please don't test it with garbage. All of us are here to learn about the Restoration and Preservation of Corvettes. Pictures that help us learn are invaluable. Others are..... other. There have been three of us working 14-16 hours a day since Saturday morning helping a lot of you get logged into this new board.

I have tried reading some of the posts and I know Rob Musquetier and Gary have read and responded to a lot of them too.

When things get shaken out we will further address issues like how many pictures can I upload. Just bear in mind that it is my responsibility to keep this thing running and running well.

I did find this from the Setup Instructions of the software that runs this board. Thought you might be interested.

"If an image is larger than your maximum allowed dimensions or filesize, an attempt to resize it will be tried. This may fail if the image is too large to be successfully processed or if the image type is not supported for resizing. When this option is enabled, you should limit the Attachment Input options above to one, otherwise the uploading of multiple large images by one user could strain your server."

On another note. Thumbnails are just representations of the picture that is uploaded. Double click on the picture and it will open in a full screen browser window. Makes pages open faster and conserves system resources.
