I am 64. I have no idea how this works. I keep checking no auto response but it seems to have a mind of it's on. Took me forever to work the mouse.

OK, Ken, I think that "Auto Response" thing is something different all together...better stop clicking that!

To stop that deluge of email, click on "User Profile" at the top, then click on "Edit Options" in the left column. On the "Edit Options" page, you will see "Messaging and Notifications" box down the page a little, and under that, "Default Thread Subscription Mode". Below and to the right of "Default Thread Subscription Mode", you will see a drop down menu box, click on that box for the menu, and select "No Email Notification".

Mmmm...What I'm telling you do doesn't say "APPLY"; it says "SAVE CHANGES". If you did what I described above and it doesn't stop, I don't know what to tell you...need a "Shrug" icon.

              Chuck,

I think you would also have to unsubscribe to the threads you have already subscribed to. I'm guessing, but worth a try.

I'm thinking that the profile edit is only for future thread notifications. Also, it seems that you can change the type of notification with each post, see the bottom of the page under Thread Subscription in composing a new post.

Take a look at the bottom of the email you receive for unsubscribing to individual threads or all threads, if you don't want email notification on them.

It's just a computer Takes a little trial and error.

Hi Gerry, Yeah, I'm thinking you must be right. It cut way down on the emailed notices, but I saw your response in my email Inbox.

Go to User Profile->Edit Options and select another Default Thread Subscription Mod. This applies to all new threads you are creating or where you respond to.

For subscription already created you can unsubscribe via subscribe the option shown in the Thread Tools option (at the top of each thread).

                  regards,
                  Rob.

PS please post these kind of questions in the Help! forum so we can monitor and respond to them easier...

                    Rob,

I want to thank you for your involvement in this new web site and the Image Archive. I'm sure you were involved with others.

Remember this thread and others in early Dec-late Nov 2006:

                    https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...43784#poststop

I think we now have what we wanted back then, a place to upload photos and have them preserved.

Congratulations to all who have worked on this new website, it is just great in my book.

Also Rob, it was nice meeting you in Boston at the last National.

I hit the save changes which is another word for apply. I think it quit when I hit the unsubscribe option from the drop down. We will see. I think I get it. I am getting email on the post's I made before I changed. I have to be smarter than the machine.
