Blocked Words

Any chance that you can revise the list of blocked words that show up as *****? Some of the words tht are blocked are quite ridiculous as well as frustrating to the poster.

I can see leaving in the obviously profane items, but would suggest that the list needs some fine tuning.

Please list blocked examples by putting a space between the letters. So they can be researched. Thanks, Gary....

I've noted ***'s in posts mostly, but did identify ***e (C-o-k-e) as one of them previously.
I'll let you know if I see more, but in one post I was reading this afternoon I had no clue what the words should have been.

I would suggest turning the naughty word filter off and initially leaving the members to decide upon the level of what's appropriate. Most of us have seen or heard most of these words before and some may have even personally used them. Or so I've heard.

pron and hore have been removed from the banned list, along with a hand full of others. I will keep paring down the list as we see examples that don't work as expected.

Yeah, you've got to be careful with the partial use of some ban words, but that's the way this software works.

So if you ban the word ass then you can't use the word assume. . .

Don't remember profanity being a problem on the old open board?

I could not make heads or tails of this post (I moved my response to help).

I say turn it off till there is a problem. I mean you can't even get in now unless your a member, this is like being guilty before committing a crime. I think this group is above that level of monitoring.
